President’s Message – 2009-1010 from Pat Harvey

Welcome to another great year for Charlotte Ski Bees.  We have some new faces that have joined us on our Board of Directors this year and are looking forward to lots of new events and our trips, of course, are always the best!!

As everyone knows, we are the best ski and snowboard club in Charlotte!!!  We’ve been around since 1963 which goes to show you how great we are.  And we are working on adding lots of outdoor events this year which will make us the best outdoor and social club in town!!!

We have some great trips scheduled this year:  Steamboat Springs in December with Crescent Ski Council for the Annual Ski & Race Camp, Whitefish, MT in January 2010 with Crescent Ski Council, and our Club trip to Breckenridge, CO in February 2010.  Ski Bees is a member of Crescent Ski Council which consists of 22 clubs throughout the Southeast.  As a member of Crescent, you can also participate in any trip offered by any of the member clubs.  If there is any destination you’d like to go to, check with us and I’m sure we can find a trip that will take you there.

We’ve now progressed also into the age of technology, and in addition to the Ski Bee website, www.skibees.org, which is updated regularly to include all of our events and trips, we are also now on Facebook, Meetup.com and LinkedIn.  So no matter where you want to look, all of the information on Ski Bees is now there.  All of these sites are updated regularly to include all of the happenings in Charlotte Ski Bees.

As always, we need input, ideas and feedback from all of our members.  Ski Bees is YOUR Club so help us to make it the best.  We are always looking for new ideas and of course, new faces to volunteer for any of our Committees and if you can’t take the time to chair a Committee, we always need help with new members of our Committees.  Trust me, getting involved in Ski Bees will only benefit you – you’ll meet new people, know what’s going on all the time with our Club and of course be a part of a great organization. 

All of us on the Board are very proud to be part of such a great Club.  We hope to continue to have your support and suggestions and look forward to one of the best years ever for Charlotte Ski Bees.
