Jan 16-23, 2010 -- Crescent Ski Council ski trip to Whitefish, Montana
Whitefish Mountainis formerly known as Big Mountain.  Lodging at the mountain condos is almost full.   We anticipate the lodging on the mountain to be sold out very soon.  After that the lodging option will be in town at Grouse Mt. Lodge.

Lodging space is currently being held in the condos at Edelweiss on the mountain which are ski-in and a walk across the parking lot to the slopes.

Cost of the trip (land only) is $970 per person (non-skiers deduct $241).

Group air pricing has not yet been set but will be in the $450-500 range.  You are of course welcome to book your own air.  There is a $25 administrative cost for individually booked air.

We have some facts for you on Whitefish:
* Whitefish is an historic town established over 100 years ago.  There are 3,000 skiable acres, with a 2353' vertical.  Elevation 6,817’ (no altitude sickness) and Whitefish is the 10th largest ski area in U.S with 12 lifts and 93 runs, and an average annual snowfall of 300”.  2010 will mark the 100th Anniversary of Whitefish so there should be lots of celebrating while we're there.  Non-skiers can get a foot pass ticket to ride the lift to go to top of mountain.  Whitefish is 20% beginner, 50% intermediate and 30% advanced/expert.  Options will be a day of skiing in Fernie, Canada (2 hrs. from Whitefish) at a cost of $49 for the lift ticket and transfer cost of approx. $36 to $45 roundtrip.  6th day lift ticket option add $49.  Other options are snow cat skiing, a trip to Glacier National Park, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and more.
* Trip include welcome party, fun/Nastar race, mountain BBQ, put crawl mid week, après ski @ base lodge, Kenwood/Korbel party, farewell dinner and dance.
* Whitefish has non-resort, small town pricing.  Top shelf drink in town is $3.  No sales tax other than 2% on some things.
* Whitefish is just 19 miles form Glacier International Airport to the village.  You also could take a train from Chicago (30 hrs. ride) or from Seattle (14 hrs. ride) and fly home but best bet is flying into FCA on NWA through MSP, Delta through SLC or United through DEN.  Getting to Whitefish is easy.
* $300 deposit is due no later than July 1st but space is limited at the mountain condos, so if you're interested, sign up early.  Trip applications are available now.

Feb 6-13, 2010-- Charlotte Ski Bees ski trip to Breckenridge, CO
Signups are being accepted starting in June 2009, so if you're interested in this trip, sign up ASAP - we have 60 spots available and anticipate that they will be filled and the trip will be a sell out!!!

Lodging will be at two difference properties based on your choice as to location and pricing - the properties are The Chateau and The Plaza condominiums located in The Village at Breckenridge and are on a first-come, first-saved basis.  We currently are holding a total of 60 spaces for this trip.  Pricing is listed - the complete package including 7-nights lodging at either The Chateau or The Plaza (see trip application and information sheet for pricing on each property, etc.), roundtrip air from Charlotte to Denver (American Airlines with one stop in DFW on 2/6/10 and direct from Denver to Charlotte on 2/13), 5-day lift tickets, ground transfers.  The group airfare is at a rate of $386/person.  Non-skiers deduct $258.  Single supplement pricing is available on request.

If you're obtaining your own airfare, please indicate same on your trip application and deduct $386 from the price of the trip.  If you are using the group air, please make sure to include your full name on the trip application as is listed on your driver's license.  Due to recent TSA changes, the name on an airline ticket must match the exact name listed on your driver's license.  If  you are purchasing your own airfare, note the group air schedule below.  You will need to coordinate your arrival and departure time with the group arrival and departure time for the ground transfers from and to Denver on February 6th and 13th.

The schedule for the group air flight has had a slight change - new schedule follows:
  AA1243 06FEB  CLT DFW   910A 1110A
  AA  709 06FEB  DFW DEN 1230P  135P
AA  644 13FEB  DEN CLT  1035A  600P (one stop over)

Please also note to save any confusion, that although the information sheet refers to this trip as "Breckenridge/Keystone/Arapahoe/Vail & Copper Mountain", we do want to clarify the trip is to Breckenridge and lodging will be in Breckenridge. Lift tickets will be good at Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Vail and Beaver Creek only - all of these resorts are owned and managed by Vail Resorts. An optional day to Vail may be scheduled and is currently tentative based on interest so if you'd like to see a Vail Day, please let Denver know. Copper Mountain is owned by Intrawest Resorts and not by Vail Resorts, so if you didn't already know, lift tickets for Breckenridge (Vail Resorts) are not good at Copper [this question has been asked in the past so want to clarify to avoid any confusion on skiing at Copper Mt.]. If an option is offered for a day trip to Copper, it will be an additional lift ticket outside of the package price.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:  In order to participate in a Ski Bee or Crescent Ski Council trip, you must be a current member of Charlotte Ski Bees or another Crescent Ski Council club both at the time of sign-up for a trip and at the dates of the trip.  We will be verifying membership status and per our Club Trip Rules which are attached to the trip application, if you are not a current member, you will be placed on a waiting list - you can of course send in your membership application simultaneously with your trip application which will place you up-to-date on your membership status.  We want to be fair to our current members.
If you need a trip application, or have any questions regarding the Breckenridge trip, please contact Denver Board at dboard@coldbankerunited.com or dboard@cbunited.com .  Denver's home # is (704) 365-1402 and his work phone # is (704) 541-6100. Don't miss out on a great trip - sign up today!!!
